In October 2009, the Woodford State Bank employees painted and hung a barn quilt for bank director Vance Miller as a token of appreciation. Vance played a big role in organizing the new addition of the bank.

In March, WSB took part in the “Home Show”. Every spring the Southwest WI Home Builders Association has a trade show featuring local builders, subcontractors, and lending institutions. The home show gives people the opportunity to research and browse ideas for home improvement and building projects. Ben Voss, our mortgage lender at WSB, is shown presenting Shannon Vandlen with a DVD/CD player, one of the prizes won at the home show.

On Monday, May 10th, the Woodford State Bank recognized World Lupus Day. Tammy Hartwig, who has lupus, conducted a T-shirt sale and baked potato potluck for employees and raised $352 that was donated to the Lupus Foundation of Wisconsin. WSB employees wore their T-shirts to work in an effort to spread awareness about the autoimmune disease that affects 1.5 to 2 million people in America.

WSB-Blanchardville branch has volunteered to take care of the Blanchardville Community Garden. The garden plots are owned by the Blanchardville Area Improvement Corp (BAIC) and has been run in the past years by private people and the local high school agriculture class. WSB donated the seeds and bedding plants and the employees provide the labor. Produce will be sold by the area Boy Scouts and 4-H groups as fundraisers or given to the Blanchardville Area Food Pantry. |

Woodford State Bank hosted a pie bake sale on Friday, June 4th. All the proceeds will be donated to the Green County Relay for Life. Employees (L to R): Roxanne Strothman, Tammy Hartwig, and Jenny Becker were holding just a couple of the pies that were sold at the fundraiser. The pie sale ended up being quite a success raising $446. Thank you to everyone who baked or bought the pies. |

Marci Ziltener has been an employee of the Woodford State Bank for over 25 years and besides being a great asset to the bank, Marci has spent a great deal of dedication spreading awareness about Multiple Sclerosis. Marci, who has MS, has in the past 11 years raised $32,000 towards the disease with bake sales, pie sales and other fundraisers. She quotes Christopher Reeves- “A bad day is just a good day in disguise”. |

Woodford State Bank partakes in Bowl for Kids’ Sake sponsored by Big Brothers Big Sisters every year. This year we helped raise $1900. Big Brothers Big Sisters raised a total of $91,800 for the organization for 2010. |

Kiwanis club comes together donating time and so much more. Nineteen volunteers associated with the Kiwanis organization spent a total of 65 hours getting the Green County Historical Society up and ready for the opening season, including Tom Rowe of the WSB. The volunteers were busy vacuuming floors, painting windows, the school’s porch was sanded and stained, the lawn was edged and mowed, display cases were cleaned, and the entire inside of the school was cleaned including artifacts and flower beds.
